Pumpkin Ale

I added my recipe for my pumpkin ale to this site. I have brewed this twice with the same recipe and am really pleased with how it has turned out. It has a really nice balance of pumpkin and spices (not to spicy) and makes a good seasonal beer.

Give it a try and let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions.

  1. Though only the second pumpkin ale I’ve ever had, its far better than the commercially available variety. The commercial variety, which is contract brewed here in town tastes like a fairly mild ale (almost a lager) with too much nutmeg and cloves.

Scott’s does a much better job of using pumpkin. The overall effect is much closer to drinking a pumpkin pie, and less like drinking a spiced tea.

  2. I didn’t like the 6 pack of “commercial” pumpkin. I poured out three of them. Would you consider bottling one of yours for me so I can try it? I’ll pay . . .

  3. No need to pay (thats illegal…wink). I can bottle one and have Andy bring it in as long as you promise to give me your truthful fair review I’m always curious what suggestions/comments people have about my beer.
